Description

A fast, cheesy take on the classic Philly cheesesteak — ground beef, sautéed onions and peppers, and provolone stuffed into warm hoagie rolls for the ultimate weeknight sandwich.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced

  • 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • 6 slices provolone cheese

  • 4 hoagie or sub rolls, split and toasted

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a skillet. Sauté onions and peppers until soft, 6–8 minutes. Remove and set aside.

  2. Brown ground beef in same skillet, breaking up with spatula. Drain excess fat.

  3. Stir in garlic, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper. Add back peppers and onions.

  4. Top with provolone slices. Cover to melt. Stir gently or serve as is.

  5. Spoon filling into toasted rolls. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Add mushrooms or hot peppers for variation.

  • Use ground turkey or plant-based ground for alternatives.

  • Toast rolls for best texture.
