Description

This grilled cheese with basil pesto is golden and crispy on the outside, melty and herby inside — a quick sandwich packed with flavor.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices hearty bread (sourdough, ciabatta, etc.)

  • 23 slices mozzarella, provolone, or cheddar

  • 2 tablespoons basil pesto

  • 1 tablespoon butter or mayo (for grilling)


Instructions

  • Spread pesto on the inside of both bread slices.

  • Layer cheese on one slice and close the sandwich.

  • Spread butter or mayo on the outside of each slice.

  • Grill on medium heat for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and melted.

  • Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Try with tomato slices or spinach for variation.

  • Vegan and gluten-free substitutions work well.

  • Serve with soup or salad for a complete meal.
