Description

A cheesy, crispy grilled burrito filled with seasoned beef, rice, nacho cheese, and creamy chipotle sauce — inspired by the fast food favorite, made better at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 packet taco seasoning

  • ¼ cup water

  • 1 cup cooked white or cilantro rice

  • ½ cup nacho cheese sauce

  • ½ cup chipotle or creamy jalapeño sauce

  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar or cheese blend

  • 4 large flour tortillas

  • 2 tbsp butter or oil

  • Optional: refried beans, black beans, pickles, sour cream

Instructions

  • Brown ground beef in skillet. Drain, then add taco seasoning and water. Simmer until thick.

  • Warm rice and prep other fillings.

  • Lay tortilla flat. Layer rice, beef, nacho cheese, chipotle sauce, and shredded cheese. Fold and roll into a burrito.

  • Heat skillet with butter. Grill each burrito seam-side down until golden and crisp, about 2–3 minutes per side.

  • Rest 1 minute, slice, and serve with extra sauce.

Notes

  • Freeze ungrilled burritos for easy future meals.

  • Swap in ground turkey or beans for a lighter version.

  • Add jalapeños or hot sauce for extra heat.
