Description

Churro stuffed French toast is crispy on the outside, creamy inside, and dusted in cinnamon sugar — a fun, indulgent breakfast that feels like a treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 68 slices thick-cut bread (brioche or challah)

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • 3 large eggs

  • ½ cup milk or half-and-half

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for custard)

  • Pinch of salt

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon

  • Butter for cooking

Instructions

  • Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.

  • Spread filling on half the bread slices. Top with remaining slices.

  • Whisk eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt in a shallow bowl.

  • Dip sandwiches in custard, coating both sides.

  • Fry in butter over medium heat until golden and crispy, 2–3 minutes per side.

  • Mix sugar and cinnamon. Toss warm toast in mixture until coated.

  • Serve with berries, syrup, or powdered sugar.

Notes

  • Use slightly stale bread for better texture.

  • Cut into halves or quarters for brunch platters.

  • Try different fillings like Nutella or strawberries.
