Ingredients

8 oz pasta of choice

2 tbsp olive oil or butter

4–6 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp tomato paste

1 (14–15 oz) can crushed tomatoes

½ cup heavy cream or half-and-half

¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

¼ cup grated parmesan (optional)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish
Instructions

Cook pasta until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain.

In a skillet, heat oil and sauté garlic until golden.

Stir in tomato paste and cook 1 min. Add crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer 5–7 mins.

Reduce heat and add cream. Simmer gently 2–3 mins.

Toss in cooked pasta. Add parmesan and reserved water as needed.

Serve warm, topped with herbs and extra cheese.
