Description
Black pepper chicken with mushrooms is bold, savory, and coated in a rich, glossy sauce. An easy stir-fry dinner that tastes better than takeout.
Ingredients

1 lb chicken (thighs or breasts), thinly sliced

1 tbsp soy sauce (for marinade)

1 tsp cornstarch (for marinade)

2 tbsp oil, divided

2 cups mushrooms, sliced

1 small onion, sliced

2 garlic cloves, minced
Instructions

2 tbsp light soy sauce

1 tbsp dark soy sauce

1 tbsp oyster sauce

¼ cup chicken broth or water

1 tsp sugar

1 tbsp freshly cracked black pepper

1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (slurry)
Notes

Marinate chicken with soy sauce and cornstarch for 10–15 minutes.

Mix sauce ingredients and set aside.

Stir-fry chicken in 1 tbsp oil until golden. Remove and set aside.

Sauté garlic, onion, and mushrooms in remaining oil.

Return chicken to pan, pour in sauce, and cook until thickened.
