Description
A cozy Amish-style hamburger steak bake with juicy beef patties smothered in creamy mushroom sauce and baked under a layer of melty cheese. Perfect comfort food for family dinners.
Ingredients
For the Patties:

1½ lbs ground beef

½ cup breadcrumbs

1 egg
-
½ onion, minced

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

½ tsp garlic powder

Salt and pepper

1 tbsp oil (for searing)
For the Sauce:

1 can cream of mushroom soup

½ cup beef broth
-
⅓ cup sour cream or heavy cream

½ tsp garlic powder
-
½ tsp onion powder
-
Pepper to taste

1 cup shredded cheddar or cheese blend
Instructions

Mix all patty ingredients in a bowl. Form into 6–8 patties.

Sear patties in a skillet for 2–3 minutes per side. Place in a 9×13 baking dish.

In a bowl, mix soup, broth, sour cream, and seasonings. Pour over patties.

Sprinkle with cheese. Cover and bake at 350°F for 25 minutes.

Uncover and bake an additional 10–15 minutes until bubbly.

Let rest 5 minutes and serve with mashed potatoes or noodles.
